With lush evergreen forests, lofty peaks, terraced farmlands, gushing rivers and dazzling waterfalls, Dhaulagiri region is an exquisite place with stunning trails to explore. Dhaulagiri Round Trek is located in western reaches of Nepal and one of the least-traveled of all the Nepalese Himalayan region.
Dhaulagiri Round Trek is an amazing journey that incorporates beautiful environments and challenging terrain in Nepal. Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167m), the world’s seventh highest peak, stands majestically above the deep Kali Gandaki Valley and offers some of the best mountains treks in Nepal.
This challenging trek offers superb view of natural scenery, evergreen forest embellished with rhododendron and Himalayan peaks combined with warm hearted people. The taxing high mountain passes includes French Pass (5,360m) and Dhampus Pass (5,182m). Dhaulagiri trail goes through forest filled with juniper, oak and ferns into the high mountain passes and hidden valleys. It never fails to charm by its vividly daunting peaks and lushness. Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Machhapuchhre and Mt. Himal Chuli dominates the sky in the northern horizon from west to the east. Likewise, you will be rewarded with rocky and sloppy hills, spectacular landscapes, yak pastures and steamy floral & faunal species. Add to this, you will have opportunity to explore various ethnic group – Magar, Gurung, Sherpa and others.
The trek has a maximum elevation of 5,360m above the sea, and thus, it is recommended to be climbed by professional trekkers with high fitness level. Participants must be physically fit and flexible to walk over the mountain as it gets demanding and can even cause death in worst case scenarios.
Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek is one of the most challenging treks located in north-western Nepal; as you have to walk above 4,500m for several days on Remote Mountain trail amidst of giant peaks and chilling breeze.
